Dr. N.M.Veeraiyan, Chancellor SIMATS, began his journey in education with an ambition to start a model dental college. He started Saveetha Dental College & Hospital in Chennai in 1988 and subsequently College of Nursing in 1992, College of Physiotherapy in 1993 and College of Occupational Therapy in 1998 .The service to the cause of education was extended to other fields by establishment of Saveetha Engineering College in 2001. He created the SIMATS Deemed University in 2005 and the rest is history.


Saveetha School of Law established in 2009 aims to strive for Quality Legal Education and maintains higher standards of Legal Research and Training. With its academic autonomy together with flexibility for innovation in teaching in pursuant of excellence, the School is striving to emerge as one of the Best Institutions in the field of Legal education. our journey has been remarkable and has grown in leaps and bounds in every possible angle. Dr. Asha Sundaram, Professor & Principal

(B.A. LL. B (Hons), LL.M. NET, Ph.D, L.LD)

After obtaining her B.A. LL. B (Hons) from School of Indian Legal Thought, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala she did her LL.M. from School of Legal Studies,  Cochin University of Science and Technology with a specialization in Criminal Law, Constitutional law and Jurisprudence.  She cleared the National Eligibility Test for Lectureship (NET) in 2001. She did her doctoral studies at the JJT University, Rajasthan in Health Care Law titled ‘Legal and ethical issues on medical research involving human beings in India’. She has taught law at the School of Legal Studies, Kannur University, School of Legal Studies of Cochin University of Science and Technology, School of Indian Legal Thought, M.G University, Parvin Gandhi College of Law, SVKM, Mumbai, School of law Rights and Constitutional Governance, TISS, Mumbai, School of Legal Studies Central University of Kerala and in SNGCLS Kollam before Joining Saveetha. Organised several National and International Conferences , Seminars and Workshops. and presented papers at National and International Conferences and  also published articles in reputed journals. She is a member of the Global Alliance for Justice Education.(GALE). World Commission on Environmental Law ( WCEL) .


Dr. Raju Narayana Swamy - IAS, Adjunct Professor

Dr. Raju Narayana Swamy,  popularly known as Kerala ‘s anticorruption crusader, is an accomplished civil servant who has dedicated his life to public service. He is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, who has held several key positions in the government, including District Collector of 5 districts,  Director of  Collegiate Education,  Agricultural Production Commissioner and Chairman,  Coconut Development Board,  India. 

He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras and ranked first. Despite a full scholarship from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), he decided to build a career in Civil Services.  He has played a crucial role in the implementation of several key policies and programs in the areas of rural development, education and health. Dr. Swamy is also known for his innovative and proactive approach to governance. He has initiated several programs aimed at improving public service delivery, including the use of technology in governance, citizen engagement,  transparency and accountability.  

Dr. Swamy's commitment to public service and his innovative approach to governance have made him a role model for many. He holds a post-graduate diploma in IPR from the National Law School, Bengaluru, a  professional diploma in Public Procurement from the World Bank , a  Homi Bhabha Fellowship in Cyber law, LL M (Pro) (Gold Medallist  from NLU Delhi) and Master of Intellectual Property Law (MIPL) . His first  Ph. D is from  Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham ( Thesis titled Development, Ecology and Livelihood Security-A Study of Paniyas in Wayanad ). His 2nd  Ph. D is from Gujarat National Law University for the Thesis titled Remodelling India’s cyber landscape: A pragmatic approach based on socio- legal aspect of cyber crimes. 

He also received the Satyendra Dubey Memorial Award from IIT Kanpur for his strong stand against corruption. He continues to inspire to work towards a better and more equitable India.


Hon'ble.Justice Jayachandran, (Former Judge, Madras High Court and Senior Counsel , Supreme Court), Adjunct Professor

Dr.Justice M.Jaichandren did his graduation from the renowned Madras Christian College, Tambaram, Chennai, and completed his Masters in Criminology from the University of Madras. He did his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Laws degrees from one of the premier institutes for law in India, the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, with a gold medal in the final semester.

He started his practice in the High Court of Madras, at the leading law firm, King & Partridge, specializing in Labour and Service matters. With a passion for teaching, he had joined as a part-time Professor of Law at the Dr.Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai and taught Constitutional Law and other subjects, for over 16 years. During his practice, he was also a Government Advocate and a panel lawyer for various institutions. He was also attached with Mr.R.Gandhi, Senior Advocate, for a short period.

He was an ‘International Visitor’ to the U.S.A., as a guest of the United States Government, on issues relating to Human Rights. He had also been invited to participate in the prestigious International Seminar on Human Rights in Austria.

He was elevated as a Judge of the High Court of Madras in the year, 2005 and retired in the year, 2017.During his tenure as a judge, he had participated and presented papers in several national and international conferences, on various topics. As a Judge, he had passed many important judgments on environmental issues and other crucial matters, with far reaching consequences.

He was the President, Board of Governors, Tamil Nadu State Judicial Academy and conducted numerous international, national and regional conferences, seminars and workshops, and had also conducted various training programs for judicial officers.

After his retirement, he had been appointed as the Chairman, Human Rights Committee, Government of Puducherry. Presently, he is the Chairman of the ‘Admission Committee’ for unaided professional colleges in Puducherry. He has obtained his Ph.D., from the University of Madras, relating to the human rights of women and children in the unorganized sector in India.

He has been given “The Lifetime Achievement Award” by Saveetha University, Chennai, in recognition of his exemplary contribution to society in the field of law. He is a member of various Boards of Management, including that of Saveetha University, Chennai.

He is also a Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of India.


Prof. Dr. Asha Bajpai, Adjunct Professor

Prof. Dr. Asha Bajpai began her full-time academic career at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, where she was a founding faculty member. She obtained her MPhil and PhD in law from NLSIU, specializing in child rights and laws. For over three decades, she has taught, trained, and conducted research in various areas, including child rights law, public health law, disability laws, gender and unorganized labor laws, law and social work, law and development, access to justice for vulnerable and disadvantaged groups, gender and law, clinical legal education, and legislative reform.

As a Professor of Law and Founding Dean of the School of Law at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), she established the first law school and designed and implemented the unique LLM program on Access to Justice for preparing community lawyers. She has also been involved in various law reform projects and capacity building initiatives for judicial and law enforcement officials. She served as the Project Director for field action projects such as the Access to Justice Clinic for marginalized and vulnerable groups and Chunauti (challenge) for the rehabilitation and social reintegration of orphan children in institutions.

Prof. Bajpai has been invited as an expert or Amicus Curiae by the Mumbai and Delhi High Courts in Public Interest Litigation and has also been invited as an expert by the UNESCO High-Level Meeting on ECCE and by UNODC on Education for Justice. She has been a lead speaker, chair, resource person, and faculty member at various national and international universities and conferences, including American University, Missouri Western State University, Warwick Law School, and Westminster School of Law. Additionally, she serves on several national and international committees, alliances, and networks.

Prof. Bajpai has numerous publications to her credit, including the third edition of her book on Child Rights in India - Law, Policy, and Practice published by Oxford University Press (OUP). She has also authored other publications, such as 'From Exploitation to Empowerment' by Macmillan, Adoption Law and Justice to the Child, Child Sexual Abuse - Need for Law Reform, and Childhood and Access to Justice (Routledge).

Recently retired from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, Prof. Bajpai is currently a visiting faculty member at various national and international law schools. She is also involved in consultancy assignments for the United Nations, Global Justice Sector Workforce, and some corporations. She continues her capacity building and law reform efforts and is working on a book on legal services.


Prof. Dr. K. Jaishankar, Adjunct Professor

Professor (Dr.) K. Jaishankar is currently the Founder and Principal Director and Professor of Criminology and Justice Sciences of the International Institute of Justice & Police Sciences (IIJPS), Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Before founding the International Institute of Justice & Police Sciences in 2022, Jaishankar held several positions like dean, head of department, syndicate member, professor of criminology and senior assistant professor of criminology at two major public universities in India.

He is the founder President of South Asian Society of Criminology and Victimology (SASCV) and founder Executive Director of Centre for Cyber Victim Counselling (CCVC). He is the founding father of Cyber Criminology, Therapeutic Criminology and Theological Criminology (academic sub-disciplines) of Criminology and the proponent of the Space Transition Theory. He is the recipient of the prestigious “National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) - SCOPUS Young Scientist Award 2012 – Social Sciences”. He is an International Ambassador of the British Society of Criminology (BSC) and a United Nations Expert on Issues of Victims of Terrorism.

He was recently Ranked 16th among the Top 25 Influential Criminologists in the World during 2010-2020 by Academic Influence an Academic Rankings Site Texas, USA. He earned a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the PSG College of Arts and Science, Bharathiar University, an M.A. in Criminology and a PG Diploma in Geographic Information Systems Management and a Ph.D. in Criminology from the University of Madras, Chennai, India. His areas of Academic Competence are Cyber Criminology, Victimology, Crime Mapping, GIS, Communal violence, Policing, and Crime prevention.


Jonathan Rodrigues, Adjunct Professor

Jonathan Rodrigues is a certified mediator blending expertise in Psychology and Law. Holding an LL.M. in Mediation and Conflict Resolution from the University of Strathclyde, UK, he excels in his role as the leader of The People and Culture Association, affiliated with The TCM Group in London. In India, he founded The PACT, dedicated to mediation advocacy and training, impacting over 12,000 law students. His tenure at CAMP Arbitration and Mediation Practice in Bangalore further showcased his prowess in online mediation services.

With a background in journalism at The Times of India, Jonathan brings a unique perspective to conflict resolution. He's a prolific writer, contributing to prominent platforms like Mediate.com and International Mediation Institute. His authored works include 'Mediation Simplified,' India's pioneering interactive mediation workbook, and contributions to seminal publications like 'Conciliation and Mediation in India' and 'Mediation Moves.'

Jonathan is a TEDx speaker, emphasizing the importance of mediation in the Multi-Door Dispute Resolution System. Currently, he's gearing up to host the online chat show "@PACE," exploring global insights on conflict resolution within the people and culture domain. With his diverse background and extensive contributions to mediation, Jonathan Rodrigues is a leading voice in the field, advocating for peaceful conflict resolution worldwide.


Gokul Narayan, Adjunct Professor

Gokul Narayan is the COO at the Asian School of Cyber Laws, Pune and is also a mediator . He is an alumnus of Symbiosis Law School, Pune, from where he completed both his Bachelor's and Master's in Law. Cyber Law, Intellectual Property Law, and ADR are his professional focal points. Gokul's enthusiasm for sharing knowledge is evident in the courses, workshops, and seminars he has curated on key legal subjects. Beyond the office, he is often found on badminton courts, cricket fields, or engaged in an intense arm wrestling match. He is passionate about music, sketching and is always looking for an excuse to get on to his motorbike and head out on long solo rides.

At the core, Gokul seeks to modernize legal education, making it both accessible and practically relevant. He values the synergy of collaborative learning and real-world application. Gokul believes in the growth that comes from mentorship and dialogue. With an ever-curious spirit, he thrives on engaging with peers, always in pursuit of shared learning and mutual advancement.


Eliza Hall, Consulting Counsel, Pennsylvania

Eliza Hall is a Consulting Counsel in the firm’s Intellectual Property, Media, Entertainment & Communications, and Privacy & Cybersecurity practice groups. Ms. Hall advises and represents U.S and international for-profit and nonprofit clients on a broad range of intellectual property and related issues with an emphasis on securing, enforcing, licensing and litigating IP rights. Ms. Hall’s experience includes music law, trademark, patent, copyright and trade dress litigation, commercial litigation, trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings, false advertising and internet disputes, and releases, licensing and insurance issues for film production. She also has experience with related issues including privacy and media law, non competes and nondisclosure agreements, and insurance coverage for hacking and other cyberattacks.

Beyond litigation and enforcement, Ms. Hall’s practice includes drafting and reviewing intellectual property licensing agreements, record contracts, music publishing deals, trademark co-existence agreements, work-for-hire and related provisions in employment or contracting agreements, and policies concerning social media, privacy, and the ownership of intellectual property; trademark and trade dress clearance; and protecting intellectual property rights during estate planning. Ms. Hall’s previous career was in the nonprofit sector and focused on grantwriting, fundraising, and project management in the areas of educational technology, charter schools, and the arts.




Dr. V. Venkatesan, Managing Partner - V2 LEGAL, Former Senior Central Government Standing Counsel, High Court - Madras, Adjunct Professor

Dr V. Venkatesan is the Founder and Managing Partner of V2 Legal. He has completed his graduation and post-graduation in English Literature at the Madras Christian College. He was awarded as the “Best Outgoing Student of MCC in the year 1993”. He pursued his graduation in Law at the SLSRC College, Bangalore, and did his post-graduation in Law at Annamalai University. Further, he has completed his Doctorate of Philosophy on the topic “Ease of English Language in Legal Judgements” at SRM University.

He enrolled as an Advocate in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Bar Council and is been practicing for more than 26 years. In his practice on various branches of law, he has handled many sensational cases. He has been the counsel for many companies and leading educational institutions in the country, having national and international importance. He has also served as one of the Senior Standing Counsel for the Union of India in the Hon’ble Madras High Court between 2015 and 2019.

He has handled many sensitive matters in different areas of law. He has served as Counsel for Tamil Nadu Veterinary University in various cases. He continues as a Counsel and Legal Advisor for the prestigious SRM Group. He is also serving as a Member of NGOs and has played a key role in extending support during the time of crisis along with “Puthiya Thalaimurai Foundation”, actively involved in social work, higher education, upliftment of women, etc.

Apart from being engaged as a counsel for many prestigious companies, he has played a crucial role in the incorporation of several companies. He has been extensively practicing for more than two decades and has contested for Government Ministries such as Home Affairs, Heavy Industries, Corporate Affairs, Power, etc. He has handled sensitive cases and has appeared in cases such as Puducherry MLAs’s nomination, Hindustan Photo Film, CSI Trust, Paramount Airways, and MRF.

He is a known orator, debater, and tough negotiator. He has endured the technicalities of legal practice and has comprehended the nuances of law. He provides strategic inputs to his clients and his knowledge in the grass-roots of legal conceptions is deeply valued. Periodically, the V2 Legal Team under his guidance conducts webinars and posts messages for social awareness and dissemination of knowledge among the legal fraternity.

From the earlier days of his career, he has been associated with many eminent senior advocates of the bar. Having experience at the bar and expertise in different areas of law, he is familiar with the legal fraternity and often captured by the leading news channels.
