The students of Saveetha School of Law headed by Mr.A.Sivanandham (Asst Professor - Dept of Criminal Law) embarked on a field visit to the Rajiv Gandhi hospital on 12.03.2024 as a part of their curriculum in Medical Jurisprudence. The visit aimed to provide students with practical insights into the application of legal principles in conjunction with medical sciences, particularly in the domain of forensic investigations. Students were given a guided tour of the institute's facilities, including forensic laboratories, autopsy rooms, evidence storage areas, and other specialized units. Accompanied by experienced forensic pathologists, students observed autopsies being performed, gaining firsthand knowledge of post-mortem examinations and the role of forensic pathologists in determining causes of death. Additionally, students acknowledged the interdisciplinary nature of forensic science and its integral role in ensuring justice and upholding the rule of law. Throughout the procedure, students were encouraged to ask questions and actively engage with the pathologists to deepen their understanding.
